Dan is a nationally-renowned strength and conditioning coach, with over thirty five years of diverse training experience. He's coached some of the top amateur and professional athletes in the fields of MMA, Jiu-jitsu, and Powerlifting.
He started his fitness career as a teenage bodybuilder, winning the 1982 San Francisco bodybuilding championship. Since then he has worked at some of the top bodybuilding and training facilities in the world, including Gold's Gym, Venice, and World Gym International Headquarters. He worked as the manager under the legendary Joe Gold, founder of both Golds and World gyms.
In 2016 he moved to Aurora, Illinois where he started his own training business and competition team, "Feel Strong, Be Strong." While both the male and female teams were successful, the female team proved exemplary, winning state, national and world titles and setting numerous records.
As a personal trainer he has worked with men, women, and children of all ages to help them achieve their strength and fitness goals. He has always been a proponent of strength training no matter a person’s age, ability, or fitness level.
He recently relocated to Prescott, Arizona where he enjoys working as a strength and personal trainer at DRIVE RX and Founding Fathers.
In 2012 and 2013 he won the national and world Powerlifting Championships, (USPA/IPL) Masters Division, 242 lb class, setting world records in the squat, deadlift and total.
From 1996-2006 he was both competitor and strength and conditioning coach for the world famous Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu team in Los Angeles. There he studied under Grand Master Carlson Gracie.
From 2010-2015, he worked as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for Wanderlei Silva's WAND FIGHT TEAM, in Las Vegas– the 2010/2011 number-one ranked MMA gym in the world!
During his tenure there, he had the privilege of training Wanderlei Silva and many of the top champions in the world from UFC, Pride, Bellator, and the World Series of MMA.
